Volunteering is a super way to thank your local NHS and make a difference.
Our amazing volunteers help Royal Devon Hospitals Charity in a number of different ways at fundraising events, and in our charity shops and hospitals.
There are many benefits to volunteering and even an hour every couple of weeks could be a huge help.
Here’s a brief overview of the types of role available…
- Helping out at fundraising events
- Working in our new pop-up shop at the RD&E ….COMING SOON!
- Manning the charity’s foyer stands and snack trolley at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and North Devon District Hospital
- Charity admin support such as distributing collection tins
- Helping in our charity shops in Barnstaple and Westward Ho!, including serving and chatting to customers, creating shop displays and sorting donations
- Welcoming cancer patients to the Fern Centre
- Representing the charity by attending cheque presentations, speaking about the work of the charity, or being a local point of contact
And here are some of the benefits of volunteering…
- Make a difference in your local community
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Learn new skills and help your CV stand out from the crowd
- For students, volunteering can offer a welcome break from academia and add an extra dimension to the stereotypical university experience
- Be part of a happy, friendly team
- Give something back and get the feel-good factor
It’s lovely being able to volunteer for Royal Devon Hospitals Charity and to know that the money you raise is going back into my local hospital to help make it the best it can be
